6th wedding in a row! Here we go…

John and Narda! This wedding was great. Sunday, June 7th, 2015 at The Whispering Pines Conference Center in West Greenwich, Rhode Island. The venue was so nice, set in the middle of the woods pretty much and we were set up right on a lake for the ceremony and dancing. I met the couple through the wonderful Sara Smile photography. She was the photographer of the wedding I DJ’d last October for Claire and Kevin. Nice little surprise was Claire the bride of that wedding was assisting Sara and that was awesome to see her and reconnect. John knew exactly what he wanted for music star to finish. I supplied music for the ceremony and his friend Jim and daughter Helen also did a great cover of ‘Time after Time’. The recessional song was Peter Tosh & Mick Jagger ‘(You Gotta Walk) Don’t Look Back’. This set the tone for the party about to take place with it’s fun upbeat reggae rock vibe. Cocktail hour and dinner music was a mix of mellow reggae and mellow classic rock which was fun for a change instead of classy jazzy instrumentals. I loved the cake cutting song choice of ‘Mellow Yellow’ such a great tune. Once the party started the dance floor was packed and did not stop until the last note of the last song. It was a mix of a little modern top 40 stuff (Walk The Moon, Mark Ronson) meshed with some Bob Marley, UB40, Toots & The Maytals, and classic rock of the Stones, Beatles, and Tom Petty. I ended the night with the biggest party song of all time, which I end a lot of weddings with to go out on a high note ‘Shout’ by the Isley Brothers. This crowd was full of energy and I wish we could have gone another hour or two. John and Narda, congrats to you both and thank-you for including me at the big day!IMG_4807IMG_4798
