Lisa and Max Frevert rocked wedding #19/2016, enjoy…

Venue: Harvest, Cambridge MA

9-17-16

Couple: Lisa and Max

This one was awesome and came together rather “last minute” for a wedding booking, but Max and Lisa were SO chill and easy to work with it went off without a hitch. Enjoy the details and story of these two.

I was put in touch with Lisa and Max honestly only about two months before their wedding date through my friend Jennifer who has been working at 6B Lounge with me for a long time now and she actually did all of the floral arrangements for my wedding as well. (HIGHLY suggest speaking to her if you’re in need of flowers and any wedding coordination!)

So we met up on a Friday night for drinks and to chat music details and flow/vibe of the night and seemed to all be on the same page from the get go. They were having a fairly chill laid back wedding party at this amazing restaurant in Cambridge. After meeting up they quickly booked me and luckily I still had that date already open which worked out perfectly.

Musically they wanted stuff I personally love so that was easy and fun for me to put together for them. Lots of old school funk, soul, Motown throughout the night but kept it fresh as well.

They held their ceremony in this gorgeous park of Brookline Larz Anderson Park, which I helped provide the music for. The ceremony was very chill as well and amazing weather for the them. I was happy to be a part of it and witness it! I had some Vitamin String Quarter going for pre-ceremony music and once we began the wedding party entered to “A Thousand Years” by the Piano Guys cover and Lisa walked the aisle to “Canon in D” by Pachelbel. The officiant did a great job with the ceremony itself and once everything was done they walked off to “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne.

Max and Lisa and all of their friends/family continued to hang out in the park for a while and enjoy the weather and some drinks. I headed out and made my way to Harvest nice early to get things set up and do a sound check of the gear. The venue was AWESOME and the staff were beyond nice to me. That goes a long way as a vendor and really puts me at ease to be able to rock the gig.

I was set up in a back courtyard area and they had fireplaces going as well. The ambience and layout was really stellar. Once everyone arrived I had some funk tunes playing and the flow of the night was really just hang out, passed appetizers, no big sit down formal dinner. They wanted to have time to really connect and mingle with all of their guests as sometimes at big weddings and so many formalities you don’t get to do that. I really liked their approach with this of how calm everything was. We had a couple of speeches later on in the evening and then Max and Lisa had their first dance to Aretha Franklin “It Was You” and Lisa and her father danced to Allison Krauss “When You Say Nothing at All”. We then opened up the dance floor to everyone else and turned up the volume a bit more and got the party going. The crowd was a blast to work with and they loved all of the funk/soul stuff mixed in with some 80s and 90s hits as well. Such a chill yet fun and great party crowd type of wedding.

Thanks Lisa and Max for choosing me to handle the music for you guys, CONGATULATIONS! Maybe I will see you at 90s Night again some Friday night while Jen is bartending 🙂
