Stephanie & Kevin! Wedding 7 of 2018.

Couple: Stephanie & Kevin

Date: 7-7-18

Venue: Dunegrass Golf Club, Old Orchard Beach, ME

This wedding was incredible on all levels. Mainly because I’ve known Stephanie & Kevin for a while now & anytime I get to DJ for friends it just makes an even more personal connection to be a part of. I even had the pleasure of DJ’ing Stephanie’s sister Elana & Pete’s wedding back in 2017.

Going over details with S&K was too easy. They’ve frequented my throwback night at 6B Lounge and love all the 90s/early 2000s jams and the 80s classics as well. I supplied audio for the ceremony, cocktail hour, along with of course reception inside one of the ballrooms at the venue. I got on the road super early that Saturday morning to make the trek up to Maine and allow ample time for the multiple setups and soundchecks. The venue was awesome as were the staff – which I’ve said & saying it again – goes a long way to make the night run smooth with all vendors included.

Ceremony was set to start outside on a picture perfect sunny day while I had some chill pre ceremony tunes going. Kevin then kicked things off riding a golf cart into the ceremony to “Rock You Like a Hurricane” by the Scorpions. This set the tone fairly early on, it’s going to be a party ladies & gentleman! Stephanie’s processional song was “Make You Feel My Love” covered by Josh Kelley. Recessional song was “This Magic Moment” by the Drifters.

Cocktail hour was held on the back deck area of the venue right near the ceremony gazebo location. I had a small PA speaker in place for this and they wanted a mix of some classic 50’s music (Ben E. King, The Chordettes, etc) along with some Elton John & Billy Joel. I even was allowed to partake in cocktail hour and mingle for a bit.

Everyone then headed into the reception room while I then announced Stephanie & Kevin to Beastie Boys “Fight For Your Right” – the crowd was loving this! Their first dance was “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by the King – Elvis. Parent dances were “The Way You Look Tonight” by Sinatra for Father/Daughter, Mother/Son was “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys.

We had a few toasts/speeches of course and dinner music was a blend similar to cocktail hour which fit the vibe and crowd perfectly.

Dance party was out of control! Literally didn’t let up. As stated above they love their throwbacks so I was leaning into the 80s/90s pretty heavily but threw in some funk/soul classics and a little top 40 sprinkled in as well to keep it current. One request I had to download off YouTube and play for Kevin was a dance remix of the Yodeling Kid. The crowd was awesome & loved it all.

Thanks to Kevin & Stephanie for having me as part of this big day, congrats to you both!

(Kevin, I still need golf lessons…)
