Wedding #9 – Signed, Sealed, Delivered!

Wedding #9 of the 2015 season took place Friday July 17th at Wentworth by the Sea Country Club in Rye, New Hampshire. Easily one of the most gorgeous venues I’ve been to yet. Leah and Scott were amazing to work with and I was lucky enough to form a friendship with these two over the months and months of connecting on wedding details. They would frequent the 90s Night I DJ every Friday at 6B Lounge and stop by the Hip Hop Brunch I was doing at Zocalo. Leah (like myself) is very fond of the old school 90s hip hop/R&B so that was a must have to incopriate into the dancing of the wedding. This was also the second weekend in a row I got to work with (and was reffered by) the myth, the legend Abby Lorenz of Lorenz Photography. Always a blast whenever her and I team up to rock a wedding together.

The set up for this wedding was a small PA set up for the ceremony outside by the water with music which I supplied and a wireless microphone for the readers. I loved Leah’s choices for ceremony music. She had the bridesmaids walk to “Latch” acoustic version by Sam Smith and then Leah herself walked the aisle to the “Jurassic Park Theme” done by the Piano Guys – amazing version and take on John Williams classic tune. The recessional song they walked out together was “Send Me On My Way” by Rusted Root. Everyone in the crowd was loving it!

We moved into cocktail hour from there which was all in the same set up and location as dinner and reception would be. Cocktail music was chill jazzy stuff and then we went right into the introduction. Parens and the wedding party were introduced to “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO and the newlyweds were announced to the beginning of “La Vie En Rose” by Louis Armstrong which led right into the first dance of that song as well. Leah wasn’t aware of this but her parents had contacted me a few weeks prior to the wedding to let me know that at the beginning of dinner for Leah’s father welcome toast he would be doing a surprise song of “My Way” by Frank Sinatra. I actually found an instrumental version of it on iTunes and sent that to him to practice singing over and it was AWESOME at the wedding! Dinner started shortly after that and was a mix of old and new stuff all mellow from Beatles and Stones to Of Monsters & Men and Mumford & Sons.

Parent dances took place right as dinner wrapped up. Scott and his mother danced to “In My Life” by the Beatles and Leah and her father was to “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder. It was then time to party! I kicked things off with some old school Jackson 5 and KC & The Sunshine Band and moved quickly into some top 40 and mixed it all up with the 80s and 90s. Such a fun crowd to DJ for and wish we had more time. The dance party always seems to fly by as soon as we get started. The night ended with a sparklers send off as everyone gathered outside and formed a huge aisle.

Thank you Leah & Scott for letting me rock the house and CONGRATS to you both, very happy for you guys!
