Ryan & Bethany’s VT wedding was perfect!

Couple: Ryan and Bethany

Date: 7-14-18

Venue: Private Residence, Williamstown, VT.

This one will be hard to top for me personally. DJ’ing a friends wedding, in one of my favorite states on the planet, with an old milk truck converted into a beer tap truck?! What else does one need?

I’ve known Bethany for several years now. She is one of the most energetic; full of life naturally caffeinated people I know. When she called me a year-ish before the wedding overly excited as she always is asking me to DJ, of course I jumped at the opportunity. Vermont. In the summer. In a rustic old renovated barn. These are a few of my favorite things. I facetimed with her and met Ryan via FT a few times leading up to the big day. They were super easy and fun to work with – just keep the party going was really the motto. Not overly picky by any means with music specifics. Of course I had them fill out the must play and do not playlists for guidelines but other than that was pretty much free range, feel out the crowd.

I had a small ceremony setup in place with the most stunning view and backdrop on a hill a little ways up from the barn itself. After we ran through a chill pre-ceremony playlist, the ceremony itself kicked off with Alex Murdoch ‘All of my Days’ for the wedding party. Up next was Bethany walking to ‘Greatest Love Story’ by Lanco. Once things wrapped up & they were officially married, Ryan and Bethany walked off to Ben Rector ‘White Dress’.

The cocktail hour was held outside the main entrance of the barn which I had another smaller setup in place for. Music for this was a mix of things from John Mayer, Andy Grammer, Chris Young, and Sam Hunt. A bit of a country/folk vibe which fit the barn setting very well.

As people trickled into the barn and it was time for introductions, Mr. and Mrs. Ayer were introduced to Jake Owen ‘American Country Love Song’ and went directly into their first dance ‘Kiss Me Slowly’ by Parachute. Awesome song choice & I wasn’t familiar with it prior to the wedding.

Dinner and speeches kept things rolling and the dinner music was a similar vibe to cocktail. Parent dances kicked off the open dance floor, Bethany and her father dancing to Dar Williams ‘The One Who Knows’ and Ryan and his mother dancing to ‘I Lived’ by One Republic. From there it was a mix of everything from country dance party tunes, some new top 40 tunes, classics from the 80s/90s and the biggest must play song of the night for them; Bon Jovi ‘This Is Our House’ to feel like the Patriots just scored a touchdown!

One of the most fun crowds I’ve had the chance to play to and it is all because they were one of the most fun couples I’ve had the chance to work with.

CONGRATS Ryan and Bethany! Thank-you a million for the opportunity to rock the party.
