Wedding #8 – in the books and WOW! This was INCREDIBLE!!!

Deb and Kevin. July 11th, 2015 at Artists for Humanity Center in Boston. This was around my 7th or so time at this venue over the last several years now all thanks to the amazing photo master Abby Lorenz. It is always an absolute pleasure whenever I get to team up with Abby for weddings and I cannot thank her enough for connecting me with this couple. They were a joy to work with from start to finish and luckily I see a friendship continuing on past the wedding especially since we are by chance neighbors! Small world after all. Also getting to return to AFH as a venue is great getting to see Jeanne who runs Gourmet Caterers and do the BEST job every single time I’ve been to this venue.

I met with Deb and Kevin several times to discuss all of the details of the day. They were super organized and open to music suggestions and ideas along with providing me some of their “must plays” during the night. I set up a PA speaker for the ceremony which Deb’s brother Scott actually plugged his acoustic guitar into to play all of the ceremony music. It sounded great! I was in charge of the recessional song which is one of my personal favorites they chose “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray LaMontangne. Cocktail hour was a mix of jazz and indie singer songwriter which was also transitioned into the dinner music. Miles Davis to Of Monsters & Men, to Thelonious Monk and David Gray.

I did all of the introductions for the wedding party who were introduced to “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough” by Michael Jackson and the couple was introduced to “Marry You” by Bruno Mars. After that there was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen take place at a wedding. Deb contacted me a while ago about this telling me she was going to have the dance group she used to be a part of Static Noyze surprise Kevin and all of the guests and do a flashmob style dance to start the party to “Shut Up & Dance” by Walk The Moon. They ran out onto the dance floor and everyone was in awe and the best part was halfway through the song Deb in wedding gown and all joined them! From there it was open dance floor and I was mixing up everything from old school funk and soul into (upon Deb’s request of her love for hip hop) Missy Elliot, Montell Jordan and tons of others. This crowd was unstoppable. Danced nonstop and were requesting some great jams as well. Since it was Abby’s actual birthday that day – we decided to give her a birthday shout out in the middle of a song as well!

Thanks and CONGRATS to an amazing couple!!!
